There are days before us, there are days ahead of us, and there is today. Today is the moment now. It is, so to speak, a doorway, a gateway between the days before us and the days ahead of us. If we miss the moment now, we miss the doorway through which we pass from the days before us (the past, what was, what has brought us to this moment) to the days ahead of us (our future, what will be, where we will be taken). Today is very important for us because it is this gateway. If we only focus on the days before us and linger in what was, or if we only focus on the days ahead of us and what may be, we may miss the moment now which is the doorway by which we move from our past to our future. Sometimes we focus so much on the past that we do not even see today and are held back from going into the days ahead. We may even be taken to those days ahead but not recognize them because we are only focusing on the days before us. Sometimes we focus so much on what we want to be that we also miss the moment now and how it can take us to our future. Sometimes what we want to be is different from what actually comes about and we get lost or confused because we have lost the moment now that takes us from our past to our future.
May I, may we, may all realize the importance of today, of the moment now, of the grace of that moment, so that we can be grateful for the days before us that have brought us to today, no matter how, and bless the days before us that will take us to our next step, our next season, even at some point our next life.
